History of the company

The story of how BHM Unique Interiors came to be begins like the stories of many famous companies - with one man. The founder and current President of BHM, Janusz Bartoszuk, associated his future with the furniture industry from an early age. In the 1980s he attended the Wood Industry Technical High School in Zwierzyniec. The school trained qualified professionals who, in the centrally planned economy of the Polish People's Republic, were to feed the wood and furniture industries located in the Zamojskie province at that time.

Biłgoraj, Zwierzyniec, Bondyrz i Zamość.

The factories and sawmills, with a tradition dating back to the early 20th century, were situated in a location perfect for this type of production, providing access to the best raw materials, well-managed forestry and well-trained specialists. After the difficult times of the war, these centres resumed production and continued to cultivate the best traditions of Polish craftsmanship. The local craftsmanship also stood out for its top quality and unique design typical of the cult school of applied arts, which is currently experiencing a renaissance.

The last decade of the 20th century brought many opportunities. Many entrepreneurs founded their own companies. Opening up to the European market has allowed for growth and expansion into new markets. In the following years, thanks to the experience, the ability to choose the right partners and the use of the highest quality materials, Janusz Bartoszuk's first company - the single-man business entity named "Janusz Bartoszuk Upholstered Furniture Collection" - came to the market with an impetus. Due to the lack of capital to launch large-scale production, the company focuses on consolidating the best suppliers and manufacturers in the furniture industry, finding a niche for the most demanding customers - hotel, residential, conference and other industries grouped under the branch called HoReCa.

However, the production in third-party plants, continuously supervised by Janusz Bartoszuk, is not able to respond to all orders of the first satisfied customers and to meet the assumed quality standards at the same time. After 4 years of activity, albeit on an upward trend, but with logistical difficulties and a constant struggle to improve quality, a decision was made to change the business concept. The considerable success on the European market was possible due to the partnership with, and direct support from, the German entrepreneur Johannes Hegger, which resulted in establishing the first plant under the name "BH Meble" (BH Furniture).

The year 2008 saw production of individual furniture designs under our own brand. Our uncompromising approach to workmanship at every stage of production drives the supply on the 200 square metre hall. 8 employees under the supervision of one manager process the most demanding of orders. However, as early as the following year, 2009, it becomes clear that doubling the crew and new machines will still not be enough. Optimum capacity has not yet been reached and the market is still calling for more production. Increasingly large series and large-scale projects are forcing an increase in storage and production space.

Renting a 750 square metre hall is only the beginning of the path BH Meble will follow in the coming years. The year 2011 and the next hall double the production space, logistics facilities and supply chain. The employment already amounts to more than 35 production staff and a 4-person office. The implementation department, the carpentry shop, the varnishing shop and the office created this year are brought together and coordinated personally by Janusz Bartoszuk. His presence at every stage of all production orders - from order to production and dispatch - is marked by an obsessive striving for the perfect product, refining every detail and leaving no room for compromise.
At the beginning of 2012, with a workforce of around 50 people in the production department alone, it became clear that, in terms of both efficiency, production, and the opportunities afforded by the production departments spread across various locations, it would become necessary to change the legal form, to enable secure and balanced development. BH Meble is renamed BH Meble Sp. z o.o. Sp. K.
With the establishment of a new legal personality, the company, of which the long-term owners are partners J. Bartoszuk and J. Hegger, can now safely spread its wings. Still in the same year, an application was filed for a construction permit for the first hall and for development of a plot of land on the outskirts of Chełm.

The year 2014 begins with intensive construction work. Good weather, which is quite warm for these months, is helping to speed up production. Constrained by the capacity of the rented premises, the company has still not been able to develop its maximum capacity, which is why it is now viewing its new 4,500 square metre premises as an opportunity to provide its employees with the best possible safe and hygienic working conditions. At the end of the same year, the external works are completed and the activities are moved to the interior of the hall and the office.
In March 2015, after the technical acceptance of the building, with the belief that the new premises will give a production and storage reserve for the next years, BH Meble Sp z o. o. Sp k. acquires its current address at ul. Dorohuska 32 in Srebrzyszcz near Chełm. The extra floor space becomes absolutely necessary after just the first 6 months of production at the new site. Buying 2 hectares of adjacent land becomes a necessity. BH Meble is able to produce even more with modifications and adaptation to new circumstances. Optimum again shifts to higher values, as does quality.

Construction of the next BH Meble investment starts in 2016. The 4,000 square metres of space gives already nearly a hectare of space for production. The massive financial expenditure is incurred with full prudence and responsibility. Nothing is left to chance. The individual capacities and costs of each machine are calculated, and the positions in the sewing, joinery and upholstery workshops are optimised. All of the changes, such as the purchase of new machinery, the launch of new departments, the increase in employment and the consequent increase in production volumes are never introduced at the expense of quality.
The staff, carefully selected by President Janusz Bartoszuk, maintains the balance of production, which is already entering the industrial level. Similarly to 2008, when he only employed production workers, there is still one person in charge of staff selection. This results in the selection of people who are open to the idea that made the current position possible.
It is about picking the people who see their passion in their work.
These are people who, in the pursuit of the highest standards and then taking them to an even higher level, strive to optimise their own work, perfect their craft and take care of the environment and sustainable management of its resources - which, for Janusz Bartoszuk, has been as important from the very beginning, just as the quality of the furniture that he has branded with his own name.
Year 2019 brings investments related to the expansion of the building which is the showcase of BHM Unique Interiors. These included repurposing current offices for production facilities and creating a comfortable, aesthetically pleasing back office for the sales department and for visiting clients and partners from all over the world, representing the highest standards of the most luxurious places where BHM products create exceptional interiors with unique style.
Today we are not stopping, we continue to develop, observe the market situation, train, flexibly adapt to new realities and constantly look for new opportunities to offer the highest quality products to our customers. From January, BH Meble Sp z o.o Sp K. will therefore officially operate with a new logo and a new name: BHM Sp z o.o. We are also launching a new website which will show our successes, our evolution, bring you closer to our passion and reflect at least some of the beauty of our products and the amazing interiors they help create.
